The BDO's blue riband event returns for its 41st staging as a host of international darters descend on the Lakeside Country Club, and you can follow all the latest results and fixture lists here.

Darts' alternative World Championship sees the BDO's big names battle it out for £339,000 in prize money across nine days of action, with both men's and women's world titles up for grabs.

Channel 4 will broadcast daytime coverage, while BT Sport will screen evening sessions after the BBC ended their 38-year involvement with the competition following the 2016 event.

Top seed Glen Durrant is the defending champion after he defeated Dutch ace Danny Noppert 7-3 in last year's final to become the latest new name on the prestigious trophy.

Durrant starts out as red hot favourite to retain his crown in what could be his last appearance at Lakeside, but faces stiff competition from a number of experienced throwers.

Second seed Mark McGeeney is eyeing his first Lakeside triumph, while former champions Scott Mitchell, Scott Waites and Martin Adams hope to roll back the years.

Emerging stars Cameron Menzies, Dean Reynolds, Jim Williams and Kyle McKinstry will also look to have their say, as will multiple ranking title winners Jamie Hughes, Darryl Fitton and Wesley Harms.

Lisa Ashton is the defending Ladies Champion after her straight sets victory over Australia's Corrine Hammond in last year's final.

The tournament runs from January 6-14 at the Lakeside Country Club in Frimley Green, Surrey.
