Raymond van Barneveld has become the latest big name to join the Target Darts team, marking a new chapter in his illustrious career.

The five-time World Champion has signed a lucrative long-term contract with the Essex-based manufacturer, bringing to an end his eight-year association with Unicorn.

Van Barneveld, who celebrated his 50th birthday in April, joins the likes of Phil Taylor, Adrian Lewis, Dave Chisnall and Stephen Bunting in a star-studded Target stable.

A new-look Barney will showcase his new playing shirt and darts for the first time at the Shanghai Darts Masters from July 6-7 before heading to Las Vegas for the US Masters the following week and the BetVictor World Matchplay in Blackpool at the end of the month.

The world number nine has not featured in a PDC event since last month's World Cup - which he won alongside Michael van Gerwen - and failed to qualify for last weekend's European Open in Leverkusen.

The Dutchman's new 25-gram dart marries a trapezoidal front end grip with contrasting radial grooves at the rear and also features a black Titanium Nitride coating.

The 95% tungsten darts will retail at around £80 and have been designed to match Barney's exact specification.
