Live Darts on Saturday: German Darts Grand Prix 2017 Day Two preview and order of play

The top 16 seeds commence their latest European Tour campaigns on Saturday as the Second Round of the 2017 German Grand Prix takes place in Mannheim.

An unmissable day of action features 16 ties held across two sessions as players vie for places in Sunday's latter stages at the Maimarkthalle.

There is added significance to a clutch of matches involving players chasing down place in October's World Grand Prix ahead of Sunday's cut off.

Arguably the pick of the Last 32 fixtures comes in the evening session as Belgian ace Kim Huybrechts takes on Auckland Masters champion Kyle Anderson.

Anderson averaged 101 in fending off a tough test from Dirk van Duijvenbode in Round One and will look to heap the pressure on 'The Hurricane' - who has failed to surpass the Quarter-Final stage of any European Tour event so far this year.

Michael van Gerwen begins his pursuit of back-to-back Euro Tour titles and a fifth of the season when he takes on in-form outsider Richard North.

Van Gerwen returned to winning ways at last week's Dutch Masters and will be out to end the run of 'Northy' - who currently occupies the 16th and final World Grand Prix qualifying spot.

Ronny Huybrechts leads the chasing pack behind North in the race to Dublin but the veteran Belgian requires a positive result against world number three and four-time European Tour event winner in 2017 - Peter Wright.

UK Open finalist Gerwyn Price will be poised for a tricky encounter with Poland's Krzysztof Ratajski - who reached the Quarter-Finals of the recent Dutch Masters and typically produced his best form on the European Tour circuit.

Third seed Mensur Suljovic looks to kick-start a potential title challenge this weekend by overcoming Ireland's Mick McGowan, while Gibraltar Trophy winner Michael Smith meets Welsh ace Jamie Lewis.

Dave Chisnall marks his return to action with a clash against former World Youth runner-up Nathan Aspinall, while another tasty afternoon session tussle sees two former major finalists collide as Mervyn King takes on Vincent van der Voort.

Ninth seed Jelle Klaasen has struggled for consistency since undergoing a wrist operation but will be eyeing a strong display against Scotland's Jamie Bain - who knocked out Steve Beaton on Friday.

Red hot newcomer Rob Cross looks to power his way past former Lakeside semi-finalist Jan Dekker, while world number 15 Benito van de Pas aims to avert an early exit at the hands of a resurgent Jamie Caven.

Two of July's BetVictor World Matchplay quarter-finalists lock horns as Alan Norris takes on Darren Webster - who was hugely impressive in edging out Ryan Meikle in a last-leg decider on Day One.

US Masters runner-up Daryl Gurney looks to launch his latest quest for a second European Tour final when he comes up against former World Youth Champion Keegan Brown.

Australian ace Simon Whitlock culminates the evening session with a clash against Swedish qualifier Daniel Larsson, while Joe Cullen bids to avert a potential banana skin at the hands of debutant Belgian qualifier Tony Martinez.

World number 14 Ian White aims to utilise his vast experience to dispatch quick-fire Dutchman Jermaine Wattimena in the opening tie of the round.

The action gets underway from 12pm BST, with all matches to be contested over the best of 11 legs at the Maimarkthalle in Mannheim, Germany.
