Multiple major winners Michael van Gerwen and Gary Anderson look to avoid a potential banana skin and book their place in the Semi-Finals of the 2018 Grand Slam on Saturday.

Friday night saw Mensur Suljovic end the run of nine-dart hero Dimitri van den Bergh with a comfortable victory, while Gerwyn Price staged a sensational fightback from 9-5 down to edge out Simon Whitlock 16-15 in an epic.

On paper, the second pair of Quarter-Final ties each feature a huge odds-on favourite up against an in-form underdog bidding to pull off a monumental upset over the long distance format.

Defending champion Van Gerwen aims to move a step closer to a fourth consecutive Grand Slam title in Wolverhampton by gaining revenge on dark horse Jonny Clayton.

Clayton came from 4-1 down to defeat MVG 5-4 in the group stage with a 103 average to the Dutchman's 108 in what effectively proved a shoot-out for top spot.

That defeat ended Van Gerwen's incredible 22-match unbeaten run in the cross-code major since 2014, and the green machine will be determined to put the Welshman back in his place.

Van Gerwen came through one of the greatest matches ever witnessed at the Grand Slam as he edged out Michael Smith 10-8 in the Last with a 108.3 average, and any sign of a similar display from the Dutch star could spell grave danger for Clayton.

Clayton, the Austrian Open champion, is appearing in only his second major Quarter-Final and is on the verge of breaking in to the world's top 16 for the first time.

The world number 17 thrashed Poland's Krzysztof Ratajski 10-3 with a 103.6 average in the Last 16 and now faces one of the toughest tests of his career as he contests a best of 31 tie for the first time in a televised tournament.

The opening tie of the evening sees reigning UK Open and World Matchplay champion Anderson up against Germany's Michael Unterbuchner.

Anderson, Grand Slam runner-up in 2011, has made global headlines for his post-match comments following his 10-2 rout of Wesley Harms on Thursday, when he denied accusations of passing wind on the stage.

The Flying Scotsman is now looking to ensure Unterbuchner's Grand Slam hopes are gone with the wind as he faces the BDO star for the second time this week.

Anderson boasts a tournament average of 101, twelve points higher than his opponent, but will wary of the German's capabilities after they met in the group stage, with the Scot claiming a 5-2 win despite an average of just 90.

Unterbuchner is riding the crest of a wave after pulling off a sensational 10-6 scalp of James Wade in the Last 16, ending Wade's 13-match unbeaten run in televised competition.

The Lakeside semi-finalist is flying the flag for the BDO and is only the tenth BDO player to have reached the Last Eight of the Grand Slam since 2007.

The action gets underway from 7pm GMT, with matches to be contested over the best of 31 legs.
