The second World Series event of the season draws to a close on Saturday as the eight remaining stars vie to be crowned US Masters champion in Las Vegas.

Seven of the eight PDC seeds safely progressed to the Quarter-Finals at the Mandalay Bay on Friday, with Gerwyn Price the only big name to bow out at the first hurdle.

Michael van Gerwen is bidding to successfully defend the title he claimed 12 months ago, and the world number one comes up against multiple major winner James Wade in the Last Eight.

Van Gerwen ruthlessly whitewashed North American champion Jeff Smith 6-0 in his opener, while a contrastingly difficult test for Wade saw him come from 5-2 down to edge out Danny Lauby 6-5 with a 158 checkout in the deciding leg.

Van Gerwen's emphatic recent record against Wade has seen him win their last 14 consecutive meetings dating back to June 2016.

Perhaps the pick of the Quarter-Final ties sees reigning World Champion Rob Cross up against Premier League finalist Michael Smith.

Cross marked his Vegas debut with a 105.7 average in thrashing Ross Snook 6-1 and is bidding to follow up his recent Players Championship success - his first title since January's Ally Pally triumph.

Smith was a routine 6-1 winner over Canada's David Cameron in Round One and is looking to stop the rot against his bogey opponent, with Cross having won eight of their previous nine encounters, including back-to-back Premier League victories.

Gary Anderson steps up his quest for a sixth World Series crown with a clash against giant-killer Dawson Murschell.

Anderson, who claimed the Dubai Masters and Perth Masters titles last season, set his stall out with a blistering 112.6 average in a 6-1 demolition of DJ Sayre and will be keen to pick up from where he left off as the stakes and format increase.

Murschell burst onto the scene with a shock scalp of James Wade 12 months ago and proved that result was no flash in the pan as he dumped out Gerwyn Price 6-2 on Friday.

The Canadian youngster recently featured in the World Cup of Darts and will envisage this as an invaluable opportunity to gain more big stage experience and test himself against of the sport's all-time greats.

Another fascinating contest sees Premier League stars Peter Wright and Daryl Gurney go head-to-head.

Wright stumbled over the line to defeat Joseph Huffman 6-4 with an average of 89.5 after a series of missed doubles and yet another change of equipment.

Gurney produced a much more convincing display as he overcame John Norman Jnr 6-4 with a 98 average, and the Northern Irishman is aiming to go one step further after narrowly losing out in the final last year.

The duo played out two 6-6 stalemates during this season's Premier League, while Gurney prevailed 8-7 in the Quarter-Finals here 12 months ago.

The action gets underway from 8pm BST, with all matches to be contested over the best of 15 legs.
