The greatest show on planet darts returns for another festive feast of arrows, and you can follow all the latest results and fixtures from the 2017/18 PDC World Championship here.

The sport's most prestigious tournament celebrates its 25th anniversary this year and promises to be bigger and better than ever, with 72 players competing for a record prize fund of £1.8 million and the iconic Sid Waddell Trophy.

The 15-day show-piece has become the highlight of the festive sporting calendar as 70,000 fans flock to London's Alexandra Palace to create an atmosphere like no other.

The line-up is comprised of the top 32 players from the PDC Order of Merit - who are joined by the next highest ranked 16 players from the ProTour Order of Merit, in addition to a series of international qualifiers and wildcards.

World number one Michael van Gerwen is in pursuit of a third World Championship crown, 12 months on from defeating Gary Anderson 7-3 in a high quality final.

The curtain comes down on the illustrious career of Phil Taylor as the 16-time World Champion makes his 29th and final appearance in the competition before calling time on his 30-year stint as a professional.

Other key contenders include two-time champion Gary Anderson, second seed Peter Wright - winner of more than ten PDC titles in 2017 - and Daryl Gurney, the reigning World Grand Prix champion.

Former World Champions Raymond van Barneveld and Adrian Lewis will be looking to restore former glories, while the likes of Mensur Suljovic, James Wade, Dave Chisnall and debutant Rob Cross also hope to have their say.

The tournament runs from December 14, 2017 to January 1, 2018 at the Alexandra Palace in London.
