PDC Order of Merit update: The updated rankings following the 2017 World Darts Championship

Raymond van Barneveld has climbed back into the world's top ten following another memorable World Championship campaign, while Phil Taylor has slipped to sixth after another barren visit to Alexandra Palace.

Van Barneveld's run to a third consecutive Semi-Final at Ally Pally sees him climb two places in the PDC Order of Merit, leapfrogging Michael Smith and Robert Thornton.

Thornton's Second Round exit to Daryl Gurney culminated a disappointing year for the Scot and sees him fall to twelfth, while Gurney's landmark run to the Quarter-Finals for the first time means he climbs three places to 21st.

Taylor saw his latest quest for a 17th world title ended by his old rival Barney in the Quarter-Finals and his failure to defend the prize money earned for reaching the final two years ago means he slides from fourth to sixth.

The 56-year-old has vowed to scale down his participation in tour events in 2017, meaning he is likely to tumble further in the standings unless he can end his major title drought.

Simon Whitlock has regained his place in the top 16 at the expense of an out of sorts Stephen Bunting, while Alan Norris has edged closer to breaking into that elite bracket for the first time.

Vincent van der Voort's First Round exit to Max Hopp resulted in him tumbling five places to 25th, with the rapid Dutchman left contemplating retirement due to a persistent back injury.

Emerging star Chris Dobey is up five places to 42 following his Ally Pally debut, while former Premier League stars Andy Hamilton and Wes Newton continue to lose ground.
