The World Series of Darts is a concept introduced by PDC Chairman Barry Hearn in 2013, with the aim of helping darts become a true global game.
A series of annual events are to be held in the sport's previously uncharted, yet rapidly growing interest areas, including Dubai, Australia and China.
The elite stars of the sport will travel to all corners of the world to compete in invitational tournaments broadcast live on major international television stations and played in front of huge crowds in outdoors stadiums and indoor arenas.
The top seeds will be joined by a selection of local wildcard picks and qualifiers in the exciting new series of tournaments in a packed PDC calendar.
As of 2016, the World Series incorporates the following events:
- The Dubai Darts Masters
- The Perth Darts Masters
- The Sydney Darts Masters
- The Auckland Darts Masters
- The Shanghai Darts Masters
- The Tokyo Darts Masters
- World Series Finals
